Paint.NET for IMVU create - PRODUCT REVIEW (EYES)

Other than making hair texture you also can make a eyes texture using Paint.NET using same concept making hair texture added with other effect tools such as motion blur and polar transformation. You can derive originate from X Bloody Eyes. The derivation product is the basic item avatar eyes. First texture I made for eyes based on basic color (noob avatar).

1st stage making the texture, I unable to predict suitable size of the eyeball. I just follow the tuts share in IMVU Paint.NET group looking for the result. Finally I successfully making a blue eyes texture but the eyeball was bigger. Some people love bigger eyeball but always black eyeball. My experiment was based on the sample of texture below I found it in website:-

It was before I found UVmap eyes. Using the map, I can predict the scale of the eyeball. I need to know how the eyeball to be when apply to the female avatar. How to make it shining eyes and glitters like other eyes products.

I re-made the UVmap for my own reference. You may use it for your reference too. I use it to measure the size of the eyeball I want to make for my avatar. I published about 18 eyes product for female avatar. You can check it out by clicking this link

Paint.NET for IMVU create - Plugins that I like

Hello again, previously I did wrote tips and tutorials in my blog but in Malay version. Sharing with international friends? I think I do need to write in English. But do you know Malay language is actually ancient language? I leave the question here.

During my moment in IMVU, I started using Paint.NET for my IMVU create. There are plugins that I love to use, I used it for my product and catalogue poster. Because of I like making hair texture, Pyrochild's plugin help me alot. I found noise and blur effect that can I use for started. Where the plugin suppose to go once you save in the Paint.NET directory after downloaded? Re-open the application check in the Effect and Adjustment menu.

In the making of hair texture for my IMVU product. Blur, Noise and Distort are the sub menu I will use. I fill the canvas with background colour and to get the texture effect I use Noise and Blur effect.

And you done... basic hair texture.

To make the hair texture looks shine, I added horizontal lines using a lighter colour. To blend the lines in the texture, I use Jitter effect with Motion Blur. Below pictures show how I done it and the result.

You can repeat the action to get more effect. Save in .png or .jpeg file to apply the texture in IMVU create mode in the client.

My hair texture project inspired by someone in the IMVU world. If you read this, I would like to thank you because you inspire me creating product in IMVU. Eventhough I'm no longer online, but knowing you in the world the most memorable moment to me. Thank you so much.

MY PROJECT
-----------------------

I was expected some customers will contact me request to publish the hair using their chosen texture because I did not publish all. So I make a poster and promote it in the Product Catalogue. I would like to make it exclusive and only publish after has a request, sometimes its work but its rare.

Once you gained skill using plugins, you can create your artwork and edit image and photo with your own creativity and style. Another plugin I really love to use it is Alpa Mask. Alpa Mask help me to create beautiful image. You can check my previous blog (written in Malay language).

Paint.NET for IMVU create - Master With Your Application Part I

Since I wrote about how to install Paint.NET application and plugins for Koniechy, I just think that I should share some introduction about this application. The truth about Paint.NET was originated from Microsoft paint. You can read the history from the page you download the application.

I edited this logo edited using Paint.NET

What I like and fall in love this application are the feature and the user interface element is learn-able and easy to understand. Is like you using paint with extra-ordinary tools... hehehe...

Previously, long long time ago I did learned about basic about PS during my ICT course. My brother himself is a graphic designer and my auntie from 'zero to hero' also very good using PS. Except me, because rarely using it and forgot how to play with a tools. I had difficulty to polish back my knowledge. My friend advise me try using Gimp, I did install the application but ... still having difficult to play with the tools. I'm using Photoscape application to edit image and photo but I realize if I want to create for my imvu product I still need an application like PS or Gimp or Coral Draw.

I found Paint.NET application from download.cnet.com. I downloaded because its look simple and advance to the Microsoft Paint application. If you notice the tools window look alike existence Paint application in our Window.

can you compare tools between both application?

May be the fact that its similar to the Paint application in Microsoft Window, makes me easy to play with the tools. I started to add plugin after read online forum, I remember that time I'm searching if anyone using this application for IMVU create. I thought I'd found a well known 3D product developer sharing tutorial how to make fur. Yeah... I'd refer his tutorial to make a hair texture!

(image source from Paint.NET)

I said its like using Paint application with extra ordinary tools. Yes! because its multiple layer exactly similar to other photo and image editing application such as PS or Gimp. Canvas background as a base and you can add image to a new layer without effecting the original canvas.

my project I still keep and save in my storage

You can learn more from Paint.NET Documentation about the features.

I learn to use the plugin from the tutorials and tips shared in online forum. I added plugin based on the tutorial that I would like to try to do an experiment.

Paint.NET using for IMVU

Hello again, since been a while I'm not updating my blog. I was just quite busy since I got a new job and my timetables are very tight. Since my left, 3 days ago I had received a message from IMVUians, she asks to help her up about how to use Paint.NET. I try to reply to her using imvu2go android but when I check its back through my laptop didn't send it to her.

From her message what I understand is, she couldn't found the paint.net web. She had read my tutorial I’d shared in #IMVU forum and I think she interested in using Paint.NET application. I had tried to reply to her using imvu2go I just installed to my phone but unfortunately, it did not send to. So I already reply to her last night and told her that I will write on my blog to help her out.

Hello, Koniechy here some guidelines on how to get paint.net. I hope I can help you out. Regret to inform you that I cannot post it in #IMVU forum because I had un-install my client and the forum not allow me to post without login to the client.

Oraite! don't waste our time lets go to the topic. First thing first you need to download the application from www.getpaint.net.com (easy access click here) follow the arrow where you can download the application;

once you succeed download the application, open it and you will have a basic paint.net application; here you can play around with the application using tools from the menu. For the issue, Koniechy looking for is how to make a baby hair which needs her to get jitter, motion blur & wobble from the plugin center. The plugin should in the Effect menu.

If in the Effect menu, not show any of the effects you need to use for your creating, you can download it from plugin center which is in Paint.Net forum > Paint.NET Programming / Developing (easy access click plugin here). You also can direct to the forum from the application, go to menu bar > Help > Plugins.

You can download any plugin tools from there. But it will be difficult for a person like Koniechy to find what she looking for because the plugins she looking for comes with a folder of plugins file. In an easy way, I need to find back what plugin I downloaded from the forum index.

I don't remember which one plugins I downloaded, it's from several great programmer/developer, its actually was from Pyrochild's plugin (click pyrochild here) and the other plugin I had download is the BoltBait's plugin (click BoltBait here) and also from Ed Harvey's Plugin (click Harvey here). My advice to read the forum on how to use the plugin on the canvas. And those plugins above, are the best. How to download and save the plugin files in Paint.NET Directory? Here I got the tips from BoltBait Dot Com how to install plugin files.

After you find what plugin you looking for (don't forget to donate to them for the developer's effort providing us free plugin). Click the download link to download the plugins.

Once the download started the above window will appear. Choose to save and pick the location you want to save the file/folder.

After you are done with the download, proceed to open. This will open the folder location where you have to save the download file. You will find the plugin files (DLL files) there;

Now, we need to move the plugin files into the Paint.NET Directory. Select and copy all .dll file inside the folder (using ctrl + A and Ctrl + C).  To open the Paint.NET Directory, go to Computer > Local C > Programs Files > Paint.NET. Also, from Dekstop right-click from the Paint.NET shortcut at your desktop and go to the properties; refer to the picture below to guide you.

Follow where the cursor pointed; from tab Shortcut > Find Target > Open File Location to open your paint.net directory.

The Paint.NET directory;

Double click on Effects folder and paste all files copied from the folder downloaded from the plugin center.

after pasting the copied files into the Effect folder. Close the directory. To test if the plugin is already in the application, close and re-open the Paint.NET application. Open paint.net, go to Effects menu check the plugin;

You need also to look around for your plugin in the Effect menu because it will load in submenus or some automatically save in the Adjustment menu. BoltBait Dot Com also advises that if its happen you don't see the plugin in the Effect or Adjustment menu, you need to unlock the .dll file you need to go .dll properties to unlock and you might need to do it one by one to each file. Hope this issue won't happen to you.

Why I like this software? because it easy for me to learn and polish my skill after a very long time I left using PS. Paint.net forum with wonderful and great people sharing plugins, knowledge, tutorials, and tips. There is the place I learn more about paint.net.

To Koniechy, I hope this will help you.

Thank you to BoltBait Dot Com for the guideline on how to install plugins.
